We've seen some offensive designs in our time, simply this might right be the most upsetting, traumatising, and downright distressing piece of print we've ever seen. If you'Re a gamer, that is. An Xbox gamer, specifically. One World Health Organization closely-held 2005's Xbox 360, and experienced perhaps the most infamous hardware fault of all time. If all of the above conditions apply to you (as they do to U.S.A), we buttocks simply apologise.

Yes, Microsoft has seen fit to release a $25/£19.95 poster commemorating the 'Red Ring of Death', the fault no gamer of all time wanted to see. That red circle meant indefinite thing: your console was inoperative. And it appeared far more oftentimes than it should have. So, releasing a poster to celebrate it is quite the ballsy move from Microsoft – but hey, plenty of the best black and white ads ever are nothing if not provocative.

While plenty of cyberspace users are enjoying the cheeky jape, approximately clearly aren't over the Red Ring fiasco. "American Samoa an Xbox 360 owner that has had the Bolshy Ring of Death and the shitty mod fix that Microsoft applied to fix it that also failing, this seems more than than a bit intone-deaf," one Redditor complains, while another adds, "It's truly not cool to work imperfect hardware, brag most it, and sell it as nostalgia to your fanbase."

The poster is in fact part of a series of 7 prints planned for 'Power On', a six-part documentary about the Xbox console (one episode of which details the Cerise Ring debacle). But no of the other designs are rather as moot arsenic this one, featuring innocuous objects look-alike Xbox logos and lightbulbs.

Piece the design is distinctly, ER, triggering for some, we have to admire Microsoft's temerity Hera – by turning the error symbol into a minimal yet instantly-recognisable poster intention, has the company even managed to ascend the Bolshevik Ring of Death to iconic condition? Maybe. Perhaps not. Either way, we're eased that the Xbox Series X isn't known for any similar errors.
